Challenge

The client wanted to offer a national benefit plan that could include all of their affiliate member churches without the administration and red tape involved with organizing as a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA).

Solution

Since we understand the unique laws relating to church groups, we were able to develop an ideal solution that allowed this organization to offer a national program to its affiliate churches and provide a larger, more credible pooling base.

Outcome

We partnered with a major national carrier to develop a financially sound, yet flexible suite of options based on the needs and requirements of each individual affiliate church as well as the national organization. The new benefits program has provided viable and comprehensive benefit coverage for the organization without the financial and reporting burdens of a MEWA. The program allowed affiliate churches more stability through the larger organization and allowed them to continue offering valuable benefits to employees that they might not have been able to afford otherwise.
