Salary range $60,000-$75,000 plus quarterly bonus potential, vacation, benefit package available including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Accident and 401K.

Job Purpose

Provide health and welfare consulting and account management to assigned employer groups in addition to seeking new business opportunities. Support the company’s business objectives and other DMA staff and officials, as requested.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business, as assigned. Responsibilities include providing on-going day to day servicing, renewing business with carriers, obtaining quotes as needed, and assuring client’s satisfaction with our brokerage services.
  • Coordinate the preparation of open enrollment meeting materials and logistics, and attend on-site open enrollment meetings as necessary and/or as requested.
  • Perform required group renewal analysis.
  • Analyze group financial data, as requested.
  • Develop and prepare reports and meeting presentations to clients, as required or requested.
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports, presentations and analysis, as required or requested.
  • Develop employee benefit enrollment communication pieces.
  • Utilize a new client process that includes a checklist of required steps and appropriate files and binders for securing pertinent client information.
  • Attend carrier and other vendor meetings, as necessary.
  • Assist clients in resolving claim and other healthcare administrative related issues.
  • Provide clients with resources, newsletters and promote DMA by making sure clients understand the values and services we offer.
  • Become skilled in ancillary and voluntary lines of coverage, and introduce, implement and manage such plans.
  • Stay informed of industry regulatory changes that impact clients.
  • Cross sell products to existing clients.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and referrals.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Interface effectively and confidently with senior management and other representatives of clients and/or prospects, representing DMA in the highest professional manner.
  • Assist in special projects for clients as needed in concert with DMA management.
  • Develop knowledge of insurance coverage and markets.
  • Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strive to improve service to the client.
  • Communicate in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment.
  • Attend company meetings, position-related seminars/classes, carrier functions, and social events, as required.
  • Comply with DMA procedures and policies; make decisions in compliance with established standards of quality, performance and service.
  • Understand when to proceed alone and when to involve DMA management.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all Protected Health Information in communication with clients.
  • Protect the confidentiality of information learned in performing the duties of the position.
  • Such other duties as may be assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Working knowledge of group benefits in multiple product lines including fully insured, level funding and self funding.
  • Working knowledge of different financial arrangements and products available to clients, as well as federal and state legislation and legal issues related to the insurance industry.
  • Ability to prepare client presentations with clarity and understanding.
  • Must have above-average verbal, written and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to perform internet research as requested.
  • Must have strong customer skills, along with ability to develop sound client relationships with multiple clients. Demonstrated ability to instill confidence and comfort with clients.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent education and/or work experience in the employee benefits industry required.
  • Licensed health and life producer (State of Colorado) preferred.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of three years’ employee benefits industry experience preferred.

Working Environment:

  • Work primarily remotely, with work in the office one to two days per week, or as requested.
  • Own a passenger vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Physical Activities:

  • Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend outside employment-related activities.
  • Ability to communicate, both hearing, written and speech.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night, as requested.
  • Ability to independently access the office from the garage facility.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and operate standard office equipment.
